Calgary Flames goaltender Devin Cooley has had quite the offseason.
Despite the Flames having only wrapped up their season roughly six weeks ago, the 29-year-old already has plenty of stories to share the next time he sees his teammates.
Cooley just finished up representing the United States at the World Championships, where he and his teammates were eliminated by Canada in the quarter-final. Though it wasn’t the result they had hoped, Cooley impressed, posting a 1.76 GAA along with a .930 SV% in six games.
But that’s not all he did in Switzerland.
Cooley orchestrated a picture-perfect proposal to his girlfriend, Natalie Weyers, in front of Lake Lucerne.
“Here’s to forever,” Weyers said, as the couple announced their engagement on Instagram.

Cooley and Weyers have spent the past two years together in Calgary. After signing a two-year deal with the organization as a free agent, the 6-foot-8 netminder spent his first season in the AHL with the Calgary Wranglers, before earning the back-up role behind Dustin Wolf in 2025-26.

Though their time in Calgary has been rather short, they have already become very popular amongst the Flames fan base.
Part of that has to do with the fact that the couple has an adorable pet bunny named Tito, who even has his own Instagram account.

There are already calls for Tito to be included in the wedding ceremony.
“This is my Stanley cup!!! Tito will be the ring bunny,” said one commenter named Kaelynn.
“Tell me Tito’s going to wear a tuxedo,” added another person named Christine. “Congratulations to you both I couldn’t be happier.”
