FIFA has announced a countrywide 2026 World Cup celebration program, dubbed Canada Celebrates.

The World Cup, which will be hosted by Canada, USA, and Mexico, will begin on June 11 and continue through July 19. This new program is set to allow fans throughout Canada the chance to gather and celebrate this massive sporting event.

Canada Celebrates will serve as one-day celebrations across several cities throughout the country. The celebrations will be free for the public and will kick off in an unnamed city in British Columbia, as well as Halifax, Nova Scotia, on June 11. The program will have 40 stops in total, where gathering spaces will be set up for fans of all ages to enjoy a live viewing of matches in progress.

“Canada Celebrates was created to recognise the passion for football that runs across Canada and to bring the energy and excitement of the FIFA World Cup directly into our communities,” said Vittorio Montagliani, FIFA vice-president and Concacaf president.

“As a Canadian, I’ve seen first-hand the pride and unity this country shows on the world stage and how Canadians rally during major international sporting events. Hosting the FIFA World Cup is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It builds on the foundation laid by generations from coast to coast and marks the beginning of the next chapter for football in Canada.”

As these renderings provided by FIFA show, there will be plenty of sitting and standing room for all attending. There will also be fan interactive games for all to participate in.

All stops will be located within a two-hour drive for more than 75 per cent of Canadian residents, giving everybody across the country an opportunity to gather, celebrate, and tune into the great upcoming action.

More announcements for other cities hosting this one-day event throughout the World Cup will be made public in the near future.

Canada is set to begin their World Cup journey at Toronto’s BMO Stadium on June 12, which will be played against whoever wins a European playoff between Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The Canadian team will then head to Vancouver’s BC Place to play Qatar on June 18, followed by a match against Switzerland on June 24.
