FIFA announces record-breaking ticket requests for 2026 World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is quickly shaping up to be one of the biggest sporting events the world has ever seen.
The event is set to be hosted in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, from June 11 to July 19.
The latest ticket phase for this massive event began back on Dec. 11 and is still continuing. To no surprise, it’s been a highly sought-after event.
FIFA commissioner Gianni Infantino took to Instagram on Monday to announce that there was a record-breaking 150 million tickets requested in just a 15-day span. That figure is the equivalent of 300 years of FIFA World Cup matches.
“The CAMXUS FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the greatest and most inclusive show on the planet, with more than 150 million tickets requested in only the first 15 days, making this edition 30 times oversubscribed – a true showcase of incredible demand from fans from over 200 countries,” Infantino wrote.
Infantino also mentioned that the random selection draw sales phase remains open until Jan. 13. There will be some tickets held for subsequent sales phases.

āThis overwhelming response from passionate fans is a true representation of how our game is loved globally – we are going to make history in North America when we bring the world together like never before in a celebration of unity and the best of football,ā Infantino said.
The games in Canada will take place in Vancouver and Toronto. Six of those games will be played in Toronto, while seven will be played in Vancouver.
It has already been determined that Canada will take on Qatar on June 18 and Switzerland on June 24 in group-stage matches. The other group-stage match for Canada – where their opponent remains unknown – will come on June 12.
