With both Valentines Day and the Family Day long weekend, the month of February is all about celebrating love and spending quality time with your friends, families and significant others.

It may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s definitely not lacking in adventures and things to do! This month is jam-packed with a ton of date night ideas, excuses to get out of town or spend the day outdoors with the people that you love.

Johnston Canyon Ice Walk

  • What: The National Geographic Traveller Magazine named Banff one of it’s “Best of the World” destinations for 2017, making us Albertans very proud of our hidden little secret, that is no longer very hidden. With your free 2017 Park Pass, head up to Banff for a day trip or a weekend get away and check out some of the beauty it has to offer. This Ice Walk is located only a few minutes away from the Town of Banff, and will take you take you through the frozen waterfalls of Johnston’s Canyon and is a breathtaking experience that you that will leave you in awe of nature’s capacities. Be sure to dress in proper winter gear – it will be a bit chilly!

Great Divide Dogsledding

  • What: For those of you have seen the 90’s movie “Balto” and have forever wanted to experience Dog Sledding, here’s your opportunity! This tour will take you from the base of Giant Peaks in Lake Louise to the Continental Divide, also known as the Great Divide Arch, which is the watershed division between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. You will also get the opportunity to learn the basics of dog sledding and driving a team, while getting to know the dogs and their guides. Human Bonspiel – AKA life size curling

  • What: As part of Calgary’s Corporate Challenge off-season events, anyone with a team of 4 can participate in this fun winter activity. Often compared to life size curling, each teammate will have 3 rounds to be launched along the ice and make it closest to the button. If you win you’ll be invited to participate in the finals on February 10.

Learn to Ski/Snowboard at Never Ever Days

  • What: Is learning to ski/ snowboard something that has always been on your bucket list, but never gets ticked off? Skiing/ snowboarding can be a large investment and be a bit intimidating for those who haven’t been shredding POW since you were 5 years old.
