The trees are changing, the foothills are glowing, and the weather is still warm enough to get out and explore.

Sheep River Loop

Sheep River Loop is located in Okotoks and is an eight-kilometre loop that runs along the river. The trail offers beautiful views of fall colours as the trees begin to change. Deer are commonly found on the trail, so make sure to watch for wildlife. Benches can be found along the trail, allowing you to stop and fully immerse yourself in nature.
Cochrane Ranch House Trail

This trail winds through the gorgeous historic Cochrane Ranche, one of the town’s most scenic spots. In the fall, the trees and fields turn a vibrant shade of yellow, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for a peaceful walk. Open meadows, well-maintained paths, and informative signs are just some of the features the trail has to offer.Â

This beautiful four-kilometre trail is located in Canmore and is perfect for a cozy fall walk. The trail starts right in downtown Canmore and connects to over 70 kilometres of other trails, so you can choose if you want to go on for longer. The trail is relatively flat and has boardwalks to take in all the fall scenery. Not only can you see fall foliage, but you can also get spectacular views of Mount Rundle and the Three Sisters.
Fullerton Loop Trail

Fullerton Loop is located west of Calgary in Bragg Creek. The trail spans around six kilometres and winds through the forest and open ridges that offer great fall views. As the season changes, the trail is painted with yellow and orange leaves and offers sweeping views of the foothills. It’s a great place to take in nature while getting out of the city.Â
Riverfront Park Trail

This is another trail located in Bragg Creek. It is a 5.6-kilometre loop that runs through a gorgeous wooded area. If you’re looking for a shorter, moderate walk surrounded by vibrant fall trees, this loop is a great choice for soaking in the crisp autumn air and colourful scenery.
