Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival 2016 coming to Calgary

Dec 19 2017, 11:27 am

The Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival – one of the largest in Canada – is returning to Calgary’s Plaza Theatre to share queer stories through dozens of films, events, and panels.

The festival, which runs from May 20 until May 28, features a range of local, Canadian and international movies, discussing a variety of issues affecting the LGBTQA community.

Movies range from a Margarita With A Straw, the story of the sexual awakening of a teenage girl from Delhi, to Out To Win, which tackles homophobia in sports.

And of course, film fans can also enjoy classics like The Birdcage and a Grease singalong, led by the Calgary Men’s Chorus Society – and the popular Kink Party for 19+.

A full festival pass is priced at $100 and a three-film pass is $30. Individual tickets are $12 in advance, $14 on the door.
