The 10 most expensive New Year's Eve destinations in Canada

New Year’s Eve can be an expensive occasion no matter where you celebrate, but there are a few destinations in Canada that take ringing in the new year to a whole new level.

According to a recent survey conducted by CheapHotels.org, the most expensive place to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Canada is Whistler.

The survey compared the room pricesĀ from centrally-located hotels with three stars or more from 20 different Canadian destinations to determine which location was the boujie-est in the country for this particular annual celebration.

The world-class ski destination in BC ranked number one, as it is virtually sold out and last-minute accommodations would cost Canadians around $700 per night – and that’s just for the room.

Quebec city came in as the second most expensive location to celebrate the first hours of 2018. A room there will cost around $414 Canadian for an evening. Niagara Falls was number 3, costing $329 per night on New Year’s Eve.

So, where do you find the deals that wont break the bank? Vancouver ($179) and Montreal ($164) are more reasonable, while rooms in Calgary and Winnipeg are sitting at around $100 – so clearly it’s time to take the party to the prairies, people.

Overall the study found that booking a hotel on NYE will cost revelers 300% more than any other time of year in Canada.
