This is what Environment Canada's weather alert map looked like this morning

It sure is winter in Canada.

Even without knowing the actual temperatures across the country, a glance at Environment Canada’s public weather alert map can give you an idea of our current state of deep freeze.

Pretty much every single province and territory had at least one weather warning on Friday morning.

Environment Canada uses a map, with different colours indicating watches and warnings. Some provinces had so many alerts they were almost entirely shaded in red, which represent weather warnings.

For those wondering, yellow means “watches,” and areas shaded in grey are “statements.”

Across Canada, there are areas dealing with extreme cold this morning, some have freezing rain alerts, and other alerts are for winter storms.

Even parts of the west coast are under winter storm watches.

So wherever you are, bundle up. There’s bound to be a storm outside.
