Environment Canada issues Fog Advisory for Calgary

Jan 8 2020, 4:46 pm

It’s a foggy one this morning, Calgary.

Environment Canada has placed the city under a Fog Advisory, warning of near-zero visibility for many regions throughout southern Alberta.

Included in the advisory are the City of Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Okotoks, High River, and Claresholm.

The advisory states that the reduced visibility will make travel difficult for the affected regions.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” the advisory states.

The fog is expected to dissipate by late Wednesday morning.

Be sure to drive safe out there, and leave plenty of room between yourself and the vehicle in front of you.
