Eau Claire Plaza will be officially re-opening this July, and the City of Calgary is putting on quite the party to celebrate.
Denizens of downtown will know that work in the area has been ongoing for the last three years as part of the Eau Claire Area Improvement project. This included flood wall upgrades along with the completion of the Jaipur Bridge in 2022 and the Centre Street Pedestrian Ramps in 2023.
With those out of the way, the city could finally set its sights on the Eau Claire Plaza redesign.

The investment in Eau Claire, Prince’s Island, Chinatown, and the East Village has been a fundamental piece of The City’s Downtown Strategy to incentivize investment and enhance the quality of life for those living and working downtown.
The scope of the Eau Claire Plaza project included the relocation of the historic Eau Claire and Bow River Lumber Company building, along with general area improvements for community spaces.
