Deer Park Church to hold vigil for Orlando shooting victims tonight

Deer Park United Church in Deer Ridge (77 Deerpoint Road SE) will be holding a vigil at 7 pm tonight for the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting, in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and those affected by the tragedy.

Described as a “time of prayer and solidarity” on Deer Park United Church’s Facebook page, the church’s goal to provide a safe, welcoming environment for those who wish to mourn the victims and show their support for the LGBTQ+ community. People of all faiths are invited and welcome.

The church prides itself on educating its congregation on LGBTQ+ issues; guest speakers will be in attendance tonight to speak on the tragedy.
