Cyclist allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Edgemont

The Calgary Police Service is trying to track down the suspect in an alleged sexual assault that occurred last week.

According to a release from CPS, police received a report from a woman stating that she had been sexually assaulted at around 7:40 pm on Tuesday, June 2, in the community of Edgemont.

The release states that the woman had been walking near the 200 block of Edgebrook Place NW when a male cyclist began following her.

The suspect approached her and asked for directions, according to the release, at which time he allegedly touched her sexually before fleeing on his bicycle.

The release describes the suspect as “between 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall, in his late teens, with a heavy build, brown skin, and dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt and blue jeans, with a helmet hanging from the handlebars of his bicycle.”

Police are asking that anyone with information on the incident or the identity of the suspect to contact them at their non-emergency number of 403-266-1234.
