A huge horror movie marathon is coming to Calgary this month

‘Tis the season for the macabre, and horror movie fans will be in heaven when Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) returns with a frightfully fun event this month.
CUFF’s annual 12-Hour Halloween Horror Movie Marathon is taking over the Globe Cinema from 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 until 7 a.m. the next day.
According to organizers, the highly anticipated all-nighter is a highlight of the year for the festival team.

“We are nuts for Halloween,” said Brennan Tilley, lead programmer for CUFF. “This is our chance to share our favourite film frights, decorate the Globe, celebrate costumes and rely on questionable sustenance to carry us through to breakfast.
“This year we have added additional vendors, expanded our food and drink service to both levels, and for the first time are selling an event t-shirt. Even if it takes a week to regain our sleep patterns, it will be worth it for all the fun we have with hundreds of our pals.”

The full lineup of festivities includes a midnight costume contest, vendors on site at the Globe Cinema, and a cereal buffet before the final film begins bright and early at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Halloween and horror fans of all ages will want to get their seats for the marathon, which will be screening:
- The Invisible Man (1933)
- The Burbs (1989)
- Twins of Evil (1971)
- Tetsuo: Iron Man (1989)
- From Beyond (1986)
- Sleepwalkers (1992)
- Troll 2 (1990)
Moviegoers are welcome to come for one film or stay all event long, and can come and go as they please.
