Alberta sees 48 new coronavirus cases, no new deaths

An update from the Province of Alberta has supplied new info on coronavirus cases in the province.

According to Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw, there have been 48 new cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of known cases to 7,530.

However, of that total, only 486 are still active.

Hinshaw also noted that there are a total of 38 coronavirus-related hospitalizations.

The province states that the number is considered low and the number of ICU admissions remains at seven.

There were no new deaths over the past 24 hours, leaving the total coronavirus-related deaths to 151 in Alberta.

Of those deaths, 111 were in the Calgary zone, 16 in the north zone, 13 in the Edmonton zone, 10 in the South zone, and one in the Central zone.

To date, over 355,000 tests have been completed in the province, nearly 7,000 of which were completed over the past 24 hours.
