Celebration Square: Calgary's newest public space is now open in East Village
Celebration Square, Calgary’s newest public space park, in East Village is now open to the public.
Located on 4th Street and 7th Avenue SE, the space is perfect for those wanting to rest from a busy day or soak up the sun during a lunch break. With a curved bench to fit many people and a stage to allow for performances, this small park is fit for downtown living.
As for the design, it’s sleek and futuristic, with characteristics and features that make this spot especially unique for Calgarians.
One feature that stands out is that the fins host motion sensors – so when a CTrain passes by, the fins’ lights are triggered. They can also turn on when live music is being played.
.@EastVillageYYC have you seen Celebration Square? Amazing design. Programming starts in January! pic.twitter.com/oJQ3HYpnzn
