Canada extends international arrival restrictions another month

Canadian officials extended non-US coronavirus-related travel restrictions again on Wednesday, and made it mandatory for arrivals to submit quarantine documents via a new app.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and Minister of Health Patty Hajdu announced in a news release they’re extending the Mandatory Isolation Order and restrictions on non-essential travel until November 30.

They’re also making arrivals to Canada submit quarantine-related documents through the ArriveCAN website or app. Exceptions will be made for individuals who can’t submit documents electronically due to personal circumstances.

This month, some new exceptions to the restrictions are also taking effect.

Individuals in certain isolated border communities will be allowed to cross without quarantining to access necessities such as food shopping or medical appointments.

Students from both the US and Canada who attend school in the opposite country will also be allowed to cross the border without quarantining to attend classes. They can be accompanied by one driver, one parent, and any dependent children they have.
