Calgary's newest public art piece sparks competition in New Brighton

Created by Calgary-based artist Craig Le Blanc, vs. is an abbreviation of the term ‘versus’, an icon for competition. This piece will operate as a landmark for the New Brighton Athletic Park at 130 Avenue and 52 Street SE.

The newest athletic park opened over the weekend and features four rectangular multi sport natural turf fields, a baseball diamond, change rooms, playgrounds and activity spaces.

A great opportunity for a photoshoot, stand on either side of the new sign and be the image of competition.

After a lot of planning a a few setbacks, here we are, ready to shoot the unveiling of this brand new piece of public art. VS. has been installed at the entrance of the New Brighton athletic park and will be a constant reminder of the value of friendly competition. #yycarts #yycsports #newbrighton #newbrightonyyc #publicart #artsmatter
