Calgarians dreaming of a White Christmas will get their wish this year after the city received a nice helping of snow this morning.

Calgary was graced with an unexpected dumping of snow overnight, after reports came out earlier this week said the city would not see a White Christmas.

Snow began falling just after midnight on Thursday and will continue into Thursday night, officially guaranteeing that Calgary will experience a White Christmas.

Environment Canada is calling for 2 to 4cm of snow today with a high of -11°C and a low of -20°C overnight.
