Music at the Movies Wolfgang Patron Programme event

What: Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s first Wolfgang Patron Programme performance of  2019 will be a concert titled: Music of the Movies: Avengers, Frozen, Titanic, and more. Members of the program will be able to meet, greet, and converse over cocktails as well as hear some of their favourite movie soundtracks performed live.

Heroes and Villains

What: Heroes and Villains: a sneak-peek inside the Studio is the first chance for audiences to get a look at Imagine Performing Arts’ brand new Disney revue. Ice Magic Festival Banff 2019

What: The Ice Magic Festival hosts 10 teams of two in a competition to create the most stunningly shiny work of frozen art. The artwork will then be on display until the end of the festival on January 27, accompanied by live DJs and nighttime lighting displays. Snowshoeing, skiing, ice skating, and sleigh riding could also fill your days – while you aren’t sitting cozily by the fire, that is – as Banff is home to many great wintertime activities.

25th Annual PSAC STARS & Spurs Gala

What:For the past 25 years, The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) has hosted this signature fundraiser for STARS air ambulance. The event brings together industry leaders for a western-themed night of great food, live entertainment, and dancing along with live and silent auctions. Live entertainment featuring George Canyon, Gord Bamford and Aaron Pritchett.

Penguin Walk at the Calgary Zoo

What: 2019 marks the 7th year of the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk. The king penguin colony heads out on zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk in the winter months and visitors get to experience the fun. This program allows visitors to get an up close look at the group of King Penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins, and is subject to weather conditions.
