Calgary is expected to see seven days of sunshine

The new year is looking bright for Calgary – literally.

Environment Canada is forecasting sunshine every day throughout the first full week of January.

The high on Monday will be 3Ā°C, and a mix of sun and clouds will continue throughout the day. Temperatures will drop to -3Ā°C overnight.

Temperatures will only reach 0Ā°C on Tuesday, before heading back below freezing as the sun sets. The sun will be out for most of the day, though.

On Wednesday, a high of 5Ā°C will be accompanied by sunshine. Cloudy periods are forecasted overnight as temperatures drop to -2Ā°C.

Although Thursday will be a bit cooler with an expected high of 1Ā°C, the sun is still expected to shine. Temperatures will fall to -7Ā°C at night.

A high of 3Ā°C is forecasted for Friday, with sun returning to end out the work week. Nighttime temperatures are expected to reach 0Ā°C.

Saturday and Sunday are both expected to be sunny, with a high of 6Ā°C forecasted for both days. Temperatures will dip to -3Ā°C Saturday night.
