March can be a month of weather extremes in Calgary, but the forecast is showing something pretty nice for us over the coming days.
The forecast has been looking better and better as the week has gone on, and it’s even creeping up to almost the 20°C mark over the coming days.
A fresh seven-day outlook is looking downright toasty for our city. According to the forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Calgary is set to see daytime highs stay at or above zero over the next seven days, apart from one day.
Focusing on the upcoming weekend, the warmer daytime highs are looking gorgeous, with Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 reaching 18°C and 11°C, respectively. Not a bad way to mark the first week of March at all.
Will the forecast hold, and maybe even get warmer towards the 20°C mark on Saturday? Only time will tell.
Calgary will see a bit of a cooldown after the weekend warmth, with Sunday night ushering in a 60 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries, Monday, March 9 brings with it more chances of flurries and a high of -1°C, and things clear up a bit with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of zero for Tuesday, March 10.

According to ECCC, the average high for Calgary around this time of year is 2°C, while the average low is -9°C.
While we look forward to the heat in Calgary, we’d best get out and enjoy it when it does appear. If you were curious about how the forecast for March is shaping up for Alberta, we recently chatted with an ECCC meteorologist on what Albertans should expect.
