Mar 17 2021, 7:17 pm

This Saturday marks the first day of spring, and Calgary’s weather will reflect the change of season with sunshine and warm temperatures.

The city has already seen some unseasonably high temperatures over the past few weeks, and that trend is expected to continue through the next several days.

According to The Weather Network, Thursday will bring clear, sunny skies and 15Ā°C ahead of the first day of spring.

There’s a chance of showers in the forecast for Friday (how appropriate for spring), but temperatures will remain seasonable, with a high of 12Ā°C.

As for the first official day of spring on March 20, we can expect a mix of sun and clouds, and a high of 9Ā°C.

Sunday cools off slightly, with a mix of sun and clouds and 7Ā°C, feeling more like 6Ā°C.

Temperatures remain steady moving into next week, with Monday at 7Ā°C, Tuesday at 8Ā°C, and Wednesday warming up to 10Ā°C.

Many Calgarians are bracing themselves for the coming of “second winter.” However, according to TWN’s 14-day trend, daytime highs are expected to stay above 5Ā°C through the rest of March.

We may get some flurries in the days leading up to the last weekend of the month, but otherwise it looks like it’s smooth sailing into spring.

Make the most of the continued good weather and get outside this weekend, YYC!
