Calgary weather expected to break double digits all weekend

It’s actually going to feel like spring in Calgary.

And for a city notoriously stuck in winter, that’s quite the achievement.

Environment Canada’s seven-day forecast is calling for temperatures into the double digits in Calgary for this entire weekend (yes, including Friday), meaning we might finally see all that stubborn snow melt away.

Speaking of snow, it wouldn’t be a Calgary weather forecast without at least a few flakes on the horizon, which Calgarians can expect a 60% chance of this Tuesday.

Once we’re past all that, it’ll be a high of just -1°C on Wednesday, a sunny high of 7°C on Thursday, and then what will likely be the most gorgeous weekend we’ve had all 2020.

double digits

Calgary weather this week (Environment Canada)

Friday starts things off with sunny skies and a high of 10°C, and while some clouds are expected to roll in on Saturday and Sunday, the high will remain at 10°C throughout.

It should be mentioned that, while we here in Calgary are still allowed to go outside and get our daily dose of vitamin D during this pandemic, that does not mean meeting up with your friends for BBQs or having large gatherings at the park.

Please keep one to two metres of distance between yourself and those around you when you are out enjoying this weekend’s sunshine, because practicing safe physical distancing is an easy thing to do that has the potential to save lives — and to reduce the immense stress on our frontline workers.
