Snowfall warning in effect for Calgary and parts of Southern Alberta

Snowfall, with total amounts of 10 to 20 cm is expected to hit southern Alberta today.

In addition,  brisk easterly winds will generate local blowing snow over open areas and along major highways. Snow will taper off tonight.

Unofficial snowfall amounts, in centimetres, reported by 10 am include:

  • Condor 20 to 25 cm
  • Olds 22 cm
  • Didsbury 20 cm
  • Airdrie 17 cm
  • Vulcan 15 cm
  • Red Deer 13 to 16 cm
  • Calgary 9 to 15 cm
  • Mulhurst Bay 13 cm
  • Brooks 7 cm

Environment Canada says to monitor alerts and forecasts issued and to report severe weather by email to [email protected] or to tweet reports to #ABStorm.
