Show your bus driver some love today thanks to Transit Driver Appreciation Day

Dec 19 2017, 11:14 am

Today’s the day to thank our city’s transit drivers, the ones who keep us moving.

Taking place in multiple cities across North America, Transit Driver Appreciation Day celebrates all the hard-working bus drivers and train operators.

Show some love and express your appreciation in person or on Twitter and Instagram, tagging @CalgaryTransit with the hashtag #thanksCT. You can also fill out this form and tell Calgary Transit about an operator who goes the extra mile to make your day.

Calgary’s bus and CTrain drivers have a great track record of making life better for locals. Most recently, they’ve returned a lost boy to his family, helped a woman in distress, assisted a man in a wheelchair, and gone the extra mile to make sure people get home safely.

It’s Thank Your Driver Day! Photo by @trevor_lalonde | #thanksCT Is there a driver you’d like to thank? Here’s how you can do it: Share your thanks on Twitter or Instagram @CalgaryTransit and use the hashtag #thanksCT Fill out this form to send a message of thanks: bit.ly/thanksCT A friendly word, a smile or a wave is all it takes to show gratitude. They might be the first people to say “good morning” to you each day. They help you get to school, work, appointments, special events and more. They’re the eyes and ears of our community, helping to keep us safe. They’re our bus and CTrain operators, and on Friday, March 18 we encourage Calgarians to say thanks. Thank Your Driver Day is your chance to show appreciation for the work that transit operators do 365 days a year.
