Calgary to see scorching temperatures above 30°C this week

That scorching summer weather is finally on its way to Calgary.

After what has felt like a wetter-than-average summer with thunderstorms hitting the city left and right, YYC will at last be seeing a week that looks tailor-made for suntanning, river floating, and patio drinking.

The Weather Network is showing temperatures in the high 20s throughout the next seven days, all of which will apparently feel like the higher side of 30°C, according to the seven-day weather forecast.

The only day to truly crest that marker will be Tuesday, which is expected to see a high of 31°C that feels closer to 34°C, 12 hours of sunshine, and calm winds of just 15 km/h.

Calgary weather this week (The Weather Network)

While Wednesday won’t technically be as hot as its predecessor, is very well might feel like it, as the Weather Network clocks it at an expected 29°C that feels like 35°C.

Thursday and Friday follow suit feeling like 31°C while actually sitting at 25°C and 26°C, respectively, and both will see a risk of strong thunderstorms and the chance for around 1 mm of rainfall.

The skies will clear up for the weekend, bringing welcome highs of 29°C on Saturday and 28°C on Sunday, which are expected to feel more like 32°C and 31°C.

All that to say that the hottest week of the summer (so far, hopefully) is on its way to Calgary, so be sure to make the most of it!

…And maybe invest in some sunscreen, if you haven’t already.
