Two men stabbed overnight at the Stampede Midway

Two men were victims of a stabbing that happened at around 12:30 a.m. yesterday morning. One of the victims is in critical condition and both men are in hospital.

Police were called when a fight had broken out at around at around 12:30 a.m. at the scene.

According to Global news a spokesperson for the EMS said, the man had been stabbed in the torso with critical injuries and then just around 10 minutes later there was another call for a second man who had been stabbed but suffered only minor injuries. Currently it is unknown as to whether or not the stabbings are connected.

The Calgary Sun reports that after the stabbing police were interviewing 3 “persons of interest”. One of the three men was suffering stab wounds, and was treated and released from hospital.

The Calgary police are currently trying to sort out exactly what happened.

Update: The media reports that 3 “persons of interest” were taken into custody but were later released without charges.

The police believe the attack was targeted.

At this time police have no suspects but ask for any witnesses to turn over photos or videos of the event or if anyone has information about the stabbing to call 403-266-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The police are calling this an extremely rare and isolated event.
