5 Stampede parties you'll want to check out this year

There are several fantastic family-friendly events going on throughout Stampede, but we can’t forget about all of the fun reserved for those of us over the age of 18. Here’s a list of all the best places to party Stampede-style in Cowtown during the 10 days:

Nashville North

The infamous Nashville North is only around for the 10 days of Stampede, so definitely make sure to check this place out. This party is studded with some of the best country acts, including Corb Lund, Washboard Union, Chad Brownlee, and so many more. You can rock out with these amazing acts all day and night over the course of the Stampede, and for those of you who don’t mess around when it comes to your dosage of live country music, check out the “Buck the Line” pass.

Where: 1410 Olympic Way SE (North end of Stampede Park between Cowboys Casino and the park’s Olympic Way entrance)

When: During the Stampede (July 3 to July 12) 11 a.m. to midnight

Cowboys Stampede Tent / Dancehall


On the first Friday of Stampede, the party kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Cowboys Tent, located at 421 12th Ave SE. The sweet country tunes mixed in with some Top 40 jams creates an unforgettable atmosphere in the tent. Over the course of the 10 days, artists like Toby Keith, Blue Rodeo, Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa and The Sheepdogs are set to hit the stage. Make sure to check out their website for ticket info.

Ranchman’s Cookhouse and Dancehall / Stampede Tent

Ranchman’s does a fantastic job of keeping the fun of Stampede going all year round, but when it actually comes down to the 10 days of non-stop fun, this country club pulls out all the stops. Get your tickets in advance from their website and get ready to line-dance and two-step your heart out. For those you lucky enough to snag a ticket to one the sweet shows at the Saddledome during stampede, be sure to check out Ranchman’s “Beef N’ Bud Concert Express” passes.

Where: 9615 Macleod Trail SW, Calgary

When: Starts at 2 p.m., Doors open at noon and ends at 2 a.m.

Cost: tent General Admission $9.52 (valid until 8 p.m.), Ranchman’s general admission ($19.05), Complimentary Admission noon to 2 p.m. and on Ranchman’s patio all day. Buy tickets here.

Knoxville’s Tavern / Stampede Tent

Calgary’s newest country bar should definitely be on your list of party places during Stampede. This up and coming hot spot, located at 840 9th Ave SW, will be packed with awesome events during Stampede. None other than the Entourage’s Kevin Dillon will host the pre-Stampede party on July 1. Knoxville’s will then play host to sevral musical acts such as Dustin Lynch and X Ambassadors and offer cheap drinks (“Red Solo Cup Sundays”) throughout the 10 days. This is one party that is an exception to the 18+ rule. Some of hottest country acts will be hitting the stage at the Scotiabank Saddledome in celebration of the country craze that takes over Cowtown for the 10 days of Stampede. The likes of Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Jason Aldean will all be performing on their respective nights. So, get your best denim, plaid, and comfiest cowboy boots out to dance up a storm cause these artists will not disappoint.
