'Coldgary': Calgarians are so fed up with the BIG dump of April snow

After a bit of mild spring weather, Calgary was hit with a fresh dump of snow, and Calgarians aren’t too thrilled about it.
One Calgarian took to Reddit to air their frustration, posting a photo of ankle-deep snow with the caption “terrible.”
Other Reddit users quickly chimed in, sharing similar sentiments about the sudden return of winter weather. “Hate this so much, I’m born and raised here, and I just can’t stand the winters here anymore,” one user said.
“Coldgary. Weather here never fails to fail you,” one joked. “0/10 take it back, not what I ordered,” another added.
Some newcomers were a bit shocked about just how long winter in Calgary seems to last.

“Moved to Calgary last June and I was happy for like three months, then winter hit lol. I had no idea the snow continues until May,” one said, “I moved last June as well, and I love it here, despite the snow,” another user quipped.
Some were quick to point out that this type of weather, while shocking, is pretty typical for Calgary in April.
“It always dumps in Calgary mid-April. Been this way for my 30-plus years here,” someone said. “Don’t see a problem, honestly. Last snowfall usually happens in May. Some years it snows in June. Snow in April isn’t surprising,” another added.
While most aren’t happy with the fresh snow, some Calgarians’ furry friends sure are.
“Walked my dog this morning, he was happy, and I was miserable,” one user said. “Mine too. He’d be happiest if this was year-round,” another responded.
It’s honestly kind of funny how wound up everyone gets.
If you, like all these other Calgarians, are sick of the snow, Calgary is set to see some heat soon with a 32-degree temperature swing in the forecast for next week. We are so close to some relief!
