Calgary restaurants and bars will see capacity restrictions lifted this Friday

It was just announced that Alberta will begin Stage 2 of its Relaunch Strategy well ahead of schedule on June 12, along with several activities that had been planned for Stage 3.

This advancement means restaurants and bars will see some additional COVID-19 restrictions lifted as of this Friday.

In addition to being able to allow patrons to use VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals) in restaurants and bars, the province will also lift restrictions around the number of people allowed in those kinds of business at one time.

On Friday, there will be no cap on the number of people allowed in restaurants, cafés, lounges and bars, but public health measures and physical distancing will remain in place.

Worship gatherings, casinos, and bingo halls will all have their caps lifted as well.
