Calgary is getting its very own FREE outdoor Raptors viewing party

It looks like Raptors fever has made its way west.

Calgarian will be able to watch tonight’s big game alongside an entire crowd of cheering Toronto Raptors fans at an outdoor viewing party hosted in East Village.

Canada’s team has the potential to take home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy in Game 5 of the seven-game series, as they are currently up on the Golden State Warriors 3-1.

A Canadian team has never won the NBA championship, so history could very well be made on Toronto’s home court this evening.

The party will start at 6:30 pm at the East Village’s Crossroads Plaza — just on the south side of the George C. King Bridge Access, according to the Facebook event.

If you’re worried about grabbing a bite to eat before the game starts, no worries! Multiple food trucks will be on site offering a variety of dinners to make sure you don’t miss a second of the action.

Attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to the viewing party, though there is also parking available on the street or under the Alt Hotel.

The event is unfortunately not licensed, so you won’t be able to have a beer while watching the game — though we’re sure a savvy fan will be able to find a nearby bar for some quick intermission drinks.

It is also noted on the event page that the viewing party will be subject to the weather, though barring thunderstorms or extreme winds, the event will go on as planned.
