Calgary Pride
Calgary might become a little bit more colourful thanks to the Pride Festival.
Calgary Pride has started a GoFundMe page to raise money to paint a rainbow crosswalk in front of the Calgary Tower. Extra donations raised will go towards “supporting a more permanent representation of Pride” in Calgary.
In just one day, the GoFundMe page has reached its goal of $4,000 – in fact, it’s now sitting at $5,700 at the time of publication.
Calgary Pride is just around the corner and kicks off on August 26 with celebrations that go on for 11 days, including the Pride Parade on September 4.
This years’ parade’s grand marshal is singer/songwriter Rae Spoon.
