In an effort to reduce road collisions in Calgary this spring, photo radar will be set up in 17 communities around the city.Ā
For the month of April, mobile photo radar will be in place at construction zones where workers are present. Photo radars will also be set up in the following 17 areas:
- Albert Park/Radisson Heights
- Bridlewood
- Capitol Hill

In addition to photo radar,Ā there are 57 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations throughout Calgary. These cameras can photograph vehicles that run through red lights.
Those who drive 50 km/h over the speed limit will have to appear in court before a judge.
The community needs were identified through statistical analysis, collisions, and citizen concerns, and the photo radar will continue to cultivate a safer driving environment around the city.
If a motorist is ticketed, the Offence Notice/Violation Ticket will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.Ā Tickets can be paid atĀ Provincial CourtĀ orĀ onlineĀ following the directions on the violation ticket portion of the document. The ticket needs to be dealt with on or before the appearance date on the violation ticket.
