
Easter is almost here in Calgary, and for some, that means a long weekend! Before you go ahead and make plans, you might want to see what’s open and closed.
Lots of businesses and services in Calgary will have adjusted hours on the weekend, and some will even be closed. Here are a few things that will be open and closed on the Easter long weekend.
Calgary Public Library

All branches of the public library will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, but will operate on regular hours through the weekend and on Easter Monday.

Leisure centres

Village Square Leisure Centre/Facebook
Leisure centres such as Village Square Leisure Centre and Southland Leisure Centre will have adjusted hours on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, operating from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Canada Post

Canada Post will be closed on Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6, 2026. There will be no collection or delivery of mail that day.
Movie theatres

Cineplex Entertainment, Landmark Cinemas, and Canyon Meadows Cinemas will be open on Easter for moviegoers who want to grab some popcorn, snacks, and a comfy theatre seat.

Transit

The City of Calgary will operate buses, CTrain, and On Demand on a Sunday level of service on Good Friday, April 3 and Easter Sunday, April 5.
Malls

Malls like Chinook Centre and Market Mall are open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday with adjusted hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Easter Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Southcentre Mall will have adjusted hours on Good Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and resume normal operating hours for Easter Sunday and Monday.
