8th annual Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest returns from February 22 - 27

The Calgary Midwinter Bluesfest returns from February 22 to 27 for its eight consecutive year. The festival, which is presented by the Calgary Blues Music Association (also responsible for the city’s popular summer Calgary International Blues Festival), is held at various locations and features a wide variety of events including concerts, workshops, and parties.

“Queen of the Swamp Blues” Kat Danser will be performing at the Acoustic Blues Showcase, as well as the special Walk Through Blues History. The Jeff Jensen band kick off the first Midwinter Bluesfest Dance Party on the February 26, alongside an opening performance by Calgary’s own Alittle Voodoo.

Festivalgoers won’t want to miss legendary blues rockers Savoy Brown, who, with founding guitarist Kim Simmonds, headline the Dance Party on February 27 as the band celebrates its 51st anniversary.
