
The day finally arrived, when pancake connoisseurs could enjoy a short stack for free.
IHOPs across North America celebrated National Pancake Day today and offered the advertised free short stack with optional donations going towards Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
At Calgary’s lone location in Shawnessy, the flow of people was steady and manager Joel Delos Santos said the crowd picked up around lunch time. Other staff members pointed out how high school students from a nearby school were taking advantage of the great deal. To support the initiative, staff urged customers to donate a minimum of $1 per pancake purchase.
Donations made throughout the day will stay local to help support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and here in Calgary proceeds will go to programs at The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
