As if the Flames winning their first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs wasn’t enough to remind Calgarians that they’re red-blooded Canadian through and through, Mother Nature decided to bring down some seriously huge snowflakes on Thursday to really drive that fact home.
A spring snowfall is nothing new to YYC, of course, but given the clear skies and warm temperatures we’ve been blessed with over the past few weeks, it did come as something as a surprise.

There is a slight potential for a few more flakes to fall today — at least according to Environment Canada — but it looks like we’re mostly in the clear as we head further into April.
