Calgary Gem & Mineral Show 2017 at the Big 4 Building this weekend

This one’s going to be shiny.

The Calgary Gem & Mineral Show returns to Calgary for its seventh year in a row, and this year will include more than 60 gem, mineral, and jewellery vendors.

Along with the vendors’ booths, the show will include lectures, demonstrations, and door prizes throughout the three-day event this weekend.

Collector John Cornish will be in attendance as a guest speaker, presenting his series GEOLOGY ROCKS and discussing the discoveries he’s made.

Dr. Michael A Menzies will also give a presentation on Saturday, focusing on the strange quartz crystals found in the Alberta Badlands.

The Calgary Gem & Mineral Show will run from Friday, October 20 to Sunday, October 22, and a three-day ticket can be purchased for $10.

Time: 1 to 9 pm on Friday, 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday

Where: Big Four Building – 1898 Macleod Trail SE

Tickets: Online or at the door, $10 for three day ticket, $7 for one day ($7/weekend and $5 day/day for seniors/students). Children 12 and under get in free.
