Dec 19 2017, 10:50 am

Environment Canada has put a fog advisory into effect for the City of Calgary. The dense fog is said to clear by this afternoon but is likely to redevelop again in the evening.

Visibility may become significantly reduced or near zero, and traveling may become hazardous due to poor visibility and extra care in the matter should be taken into consideration.

Environment Canada only releases fog advisories if zero visibilities due to fog are expected or occurring.

The fog advisory was also put into effect for Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre as well as other areas – check here if you are planning on traveling today.

Calgary also has a 30 per cent chance of flurries and a high of zero with a low of minus 8 today.

As for the weekend, we will be dipping into the minuses, with a predicted high of -1 and a low of -7 on Saturday, with a mix of sun and cloud in the morning. On Sunday, there is a predicted high of plus one and a low of -8, with a chance of flurries.
