No man, woman, or reptile left behind.

When the Calgary Fire Department responded to a structure fire in Arbour Lake early Monday morning, they found the attached garage of a two storey home ablaze.

All three adult residents had safely evacuated, a release from the CFD states, but they reported to fire crews that a pet snake was still in the building.

Crews entered the structure to remove the pet, returning it to its owners.

No injuries were reported to humans, snakes, or fire crews, according to the release.

Two vehicles were, however, destroyed in the blaze, though firefighters managed to contain the fire to just the garage, resulting in no extension to the main house.

A CFD investigator is determining the origin and cause of the fire.
