Fiesta Filipino is in Calgary this weekend for its first annual celebration, showcasing the culture, cuisine, songs, and sport of the Philippines over three days.
The event invites Filipinos from Calgary and the rest of Alberta to join in on the festivities, though people of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

The Fiesta kicks off on Friday, September 1, and runs throughout the weekend until Sunday, September 3. It is located at Olympic Plaza Calgary, and is free for all who want to discover the rich culture of the Philippines.
The first day of the fiesta will be full of music, with a singing competition, live bands, and dance performances throughout the day.
People will get moving with Zumba on both Saturday and Sunday morning, and the entire event ends off with a variety show from 1 to 3 pm on Sunday.
