What: Cookbook Co. Cooks and Wordfest present Calgary Eats, an night of storytelling with contributing chefs to Calgary Eats cookbook. Hosted by Gail Norton and Karen Ralph, authors of Calgary Eats.

Violence Against Women: Awareness Into Action Series

What: Women’s Centre of Calgary presents Awareness Into Action, three events that examines gender-based violence against indigenous women. The first on September 23 explains what constitutes violence against women, systemic forces that make some women more at risk, and ways attendees can address violence and offer assistance to women experiencing it.

Alberta Ballet presents TAJ Express, a Bollywood Musical

Alberta Ballet presents Taj Express

What: Taj Express from Mumbai is a celebration of India and Bollywood movie. The production showcases new India’s pop music, Bollywood culture, live music, colourful costumes, and joyous dance.

Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival

What: Just 45 minutes south of Calgary, High River is home to the Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival, a celebration of hot air balloons and the opportunity to see the big balloons in action. On Friday, September 27, attendees can experience Balloon Night Glow from 5 to 9 pm, when hot air balloons will be lit up against the night sky. Food trucks will also be on scene for the festival.
