YYC Climate Expo and Parade
What: Climate Expo and Parade is the kickoff event for Climate Week YYC. The expo features workshops, live music, and educational tables, while the parade showcases youth speakers, musicians, dancers, marching bands, and more.

YYC Bike Awards & Celebration
What: The annual YYC Bike Awards spotlights contributions to Calgary cycling by commuters, advocates, businesses, and schools. The event is also a fundraiser for Bike Calgary, with silent auction items up for grab, food, and drinks available for sale, and a celebration to follow.

Locked Library: Time Travel
What: Locked Library is an event that will see teams of contestants entering Central Library on September 20, trying to escape the building within the allotted time. The event is expected to last up to two hours and will run from 7:30 to 9:30 pm — giving attendees a chance to experience the architecturally stunning building after hours. All proceeds go towards supporting the Calgary Public Library. Presented in partnership with Beakerhead.

The September Shindig at Heritage Park

What: Heritage Park’s largest fundraiser of the year. The September Shindig revives the spirit of the “wild west” with live entertainment, food and drinks, silent and live auction, and more.

East Side Studio Crawl
What: The 16th annual East Aide Studio Crawl in Inglewood and Ramsey invites you to explore studios and meet creators in six locations: Burns Visual Arts Society, Artpoint, Heritage Weavers, Jeff de Boer, Workshop Studios, and NVRLND.

Millarville Farmers’ Market
What: Meet and shop at growers, farmers, makers, bakers, and artists at Millarville Farmers’ Market. Children five to 12 years can also join the Market Buds program. Participants will learn where their food comes from, gain confidence in conversation with Alberta Produce farmers and BC Fruit farmers, make healthy food choices, and hold sole responsibility for maintaining their own punch card and tokens. Tokens for spending on vegetables and fruit are earned by completing a weekly activity in the Market Buds area located in the garden.

Kiwanis Apple Festival

YYC Pizza Week
What: A 10-day annual event featuring participating restaurants creating an original pizza to see whose is the best. Partial proceeds from all pizza go to Calgary Meals on Wheels. More than 40 restaurants and the community have raised over $42,000 in the past five years.

Free Pumpkin Spice Pancake Breakfast
What: Head to ENMAX Park on September 21 for a Community Fall Fair. Enjoy a day of fall festivities including a free pumpkin spice pancake breakfast, food trucks, live music and entertainment, children activities, and a market featuring handmade goods and local produce.

Banff Gondola

Fall at Calgary Farmyard
What: There are many events to enjoy this fall at Calgary Farmyard, including an 11-acre corn maze, petting zoo, playground, and more. Plus there are Flashlight Nights in the Maze every Friday and Saturday starting September 20, and a Pumpkin Festival every Saturday and Sunday starting October 5.

Kids at the Opera

Bowden Sunmaze at Eagle Creek Farms
What: The Bowden SunMaze features a sunflower field spanning three full acres and is home to over 100,000 flowers. The farm, upick, and maze is open rain or shine. Bowden can be reached along Highway 2, is just before Red Deer, and takes about one hour and 20 minutes to reach by car from Calgary.
