Lougheed House Christmas

What: Lougheed House will be filled to the brim with holiday spirit designed by eight top Calgary interior designers using a “repurpose/reuse/thrifting” method to decorate the house’s three floors in Christmas decor. Guests can also take family Christmas photos, enjoy a meal at the restaurant, and shop for local artisan crafts.

What’s up with Bow Habitat Station

What: Explore Alberta’s wildlife and natural spaces on the first Friday of the month. Visit investigation stations in the Discovery Centre, then join the group activity with special guests from Alberta Parks at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, or 2:30 pm and discover how wildlife has adapted to city life. Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society will also be hosting an investigation station about furry and feathered friends found in the city. Note: hands-on activities are designed for learners two-years-old and up.

What: Acura Tube Park at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park is described as one of the fastest of its kind in Western Canada. Tubers can also check out the food truck and enjoy the convenience of washrooms on site.

Keep ’em Rolling Roller Nights

Ice Magic Festival Banff 2020

What: Running 12 days from January 15 to 26, the Ice Magic Festival hosts teams in a competition to create the most stunningly shiny work of frozen art.

Tickets are required to visit the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise lakeside Competition Carving Site during peak periods. Ice Magic is free to attend from Monday to Friday, and on weekends before 10 am or after 5:30 pm.

Half Moon Run

What: Indie-rock band Half Moon Run is coming to Calgary on the Canadian leg of their A Blemish in the Great Light world tour.

The four members, Conner Molander, Dylan Phillips, Devon Portielje, and Isaac Symonds released their first album Dark Eyes in 2012. After the record went platinum in Canada, Half Moon Run followed up their success with 2015’s Sun Leads Me On. They received a JUNO nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2016.

Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s Lunar New Year Celebration

Free Brewery Tours at Red Bison Brewery

What: The tour starts off with an explanation of Red Bison’s name and why founder Steve started the brewery.
