Heritage Park Summer Season
What: Enjoy a different experience every day at Calgary’s Heritage Park Historical Village. Take a tour back in time on a horse-drawn wagon ride, play traditional Aboriginal games in the First Nations’ Encampment and pick up a freshly baked cheese bun from the Alberta Bakery. Plus S.S. Moyie Paddlewheeler will once again sail the Glenmore Reservoir this summer, which means the return of the much-loved Captain’s Cruises.

Music in the Park
What: City of Calgary and Calgary Parks presents Music in the Park, a week of live music over the lunch hour at Central Memorial Park. Genres include country, jazz, and a Chinese orchestra.

Canadian Heroes at Calaway Park
What: Canadian Armed Forces and veterans as well as Canadian First Responders (EMS, Fire, Police) will receive free admission to Calaway Park from July 27 to 29, 2019. Immediate family members (spouse and children) will receive a special admission rate of $25 plus GST. Identification required. Visit the Canadian Heroes tent in the front admission area for your tickets and discount admission vouchers.

Storytime with Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail
What: Author Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail shares her new book all about aviation at The Hangar Flight Museum. Alis the Aviator by Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail and Kalpna Patel is an A-Z aviation tour from the Avro Arrow to the Zeppelin.

Pride Lawn Bowling
What: Pride Lawn Bowling is a recreational league that encourages social fellowship among lawn bowlers. Calgary Pride welcomes people of all skill levels and stripes to become part of their league. Drop-in participation is also welcome as new teams are formed every week and are paired off.

Big Brothers Big Sister Beers Launch Party
What: Banded Peak Brewing and Last Best Brewing have collaborated with Big Brothers Big Sisters to make a beer to raise funds for the charity. A dollar for every liter produced of the new Big Brother NEPA from Banded and Big Sister Sour from Last Best will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters. The launch party will have tastings of both beers, as well as the work that Big Brothers Big Sisters is doing for the youth in Calgary.

Wednesday, July 31
Def Leppard
What: Def Leppard is coming to town during their Canada tour, and will be performing at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Wednesday, July 31. The English rock band, best known for their global success in the 80s following the release of their albums High ‘n’ Dry and Hysteria, also made headlines when their drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car crash, yet managed to continue drumming for the band by using his feet to play part of the kit.
