DJD’s $5 Class Week

What: DJD’s $5 class week offer students (and potential students) a week to try out classes to make sure they are getting the right fit before registering for a class. Classes include ballet, jazz, musical theatre, bollywood, and more. Open to all levels of adult dancers beginner to advanced.

Youth Jam at The Blues Can

What: Hosted by the Marcus Trummer Band, Youth Jam invites all youth musicians and bands are invited to come play at The Blues Can the first Monday of every month. Bring an instrument, a few songs and a few friends.

Snyder Institute Mini Medical School – “The ABC’s of Multiple Sclerosis

What: Do you ever wonder what it’s like to live with multiple sclerosis? Are you a patient and want to learn treatment options? Are you curious about research taking place on this debilitating disease? Join Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases at their free Mini Medical School where they will cover it all. Snyder Institute Mini-Medical School is designed for members of the general public who are interested in learning more about chronic diseases and topics such as immunotherapy, effects of cannabis use, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, asthma, itch and chronic pain, and the relationship between diet and gluten sensitivity.

Dungeons & Dragons at the Ship

What: Learn all about Dungeons & Dragons on the first Monday of the month at The Ship And Anchor. These nights are specifically designed for anyone who has no experience with the world of ‘tabletop role-playing games’ such as D&D, Pathfinder, or any of the others out there. The evening will begin with first-come-first-served selection of a character to play, followed by a quick Q&A, then diving right into the adventure.

Film Noir: The Woman in the Window

Lion’s Festival of Lights

What: The Lions Festival of Lights is back for their 32nd year to brighten up Calgary’s 14th Street NW with over 450,000 shining lights. The display is put together by volunteers who spend thousands of hours creating the shining assortment of Christmas figures and decked-out trees. This year’s festival is now 99% green as it is created using LED bulbs connected by nearly three kilometres of power cords.

Drawn to Nature at the Banff Public Library

What: Participants of all ages and levels of experience are invited to sketch and draw at Banff Centre’s free ongoing beginner-level drawing workshops. Join esteemed Teaching Artist in Residence Janice Tanton to explore different materials and techniques for mark making in this facilitated class. All classes encourage artistic exploration and conversation about the ways in which we interact with the cultural and geological landscapes of Banff National Park. The drawings and sketches produced from these sessions are invited to display in a Community Exhibition at the end of the year.
