
Nine Calgary-based companies have been recognized among the top businesses in Canada according to a new ranking from Time magazine.
For the second year, Time partnered with Statisca to rank Canada’s best companies based on employee satisfaction, revenue growth, and sustainability transparency. The ranking looked at data from thousands of employees, financial performance, and corporate sustainability practices to determine the top 125 companies in the country.
The highest-placing Calgary company was Boardwalk, a real estate company that had an overall score of 85.06, which allowed it to land in 45th place on the list. It also netted an employee satisfaction score of 89 and a sustainability transparency score of 45. It placed in the “very high” category for its revenue growth rank.
ATCO came in 50th place, with an overall score of 84.37. The company received an employee stratification rank of 99 and a sustainability transparency score of 62, while also being recognized in the “very high” category for its revenue growth rank.

TC Energy landed in 88th place with an overall score of 79.90. The utilities and energy infrastructure company received an employee satisfaction rank of 85 and a sustainability transparency score of 95. It also scored “very high” for its revenue growth rank.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) was the next Calgary company to make the cut, landing in 92nd place with an overall score of 79.21. The company earned an employee satisfaction ranking of 117 and a sustainability transparency score of 89, alongside a “very high” revenue growth rank.

Next, Brookfield Residential secured the 93rd spot on the list, finishing with an overall score of 79.19. The real estate firm recorded an employee satisfaction score of 74 and a sustainability transparency rank of 99, while also landing in the “high” category for its revenue growth rank.
Precision Drilling ranked 96th overall, with a score of 78.97. The company posted an employee satisfaction rank of 76 and a sustainability transparency score of 93. It found itself in the “moderate” category for its revenue growth rank.
Graham rounded out Calgary’s placings in the top 100, landing in spot number 99, earning an overall score of 77.99. The company brought home an employee satisfaction rank of 97 and a sustainability transparency score of 106, while placing in the “high” category for its revenue growth rank.

AltaLink secured the 118th spot on the list, finishing with an overall score of 75.14. It scored an employee satisfaction rank of 49 and a sustainability transparency score of 109, while ranking in the “moderate” category for its revenue growth rank.
Lastly, Phoenix Technology Services came in 121st place, achieving a final score of 74.46. It posted an employee satisfaction score of 107 and a sustainability transparency score of 101, with a “moderate” score for its revenue growth rank.
Overall, TD Bank Group was named the best company in Canada, placing first and earning an overall score of 96.89. It achieved an employee satisfaction rank of 94 and a sustainability transparency score of 22, and secured an “outstanding” classification for its revenue growth rank.
