Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo 2016 returns to Stampede Park

Prepare yourself for an event that’s truly out of this world when The Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo comes to town.

The Calgary Expo, which has been running since 2006, is returning to Stampede Park from April 28 to May 1, and is crammed full of all things pop culture including comics, sci-fi, gaming, fantasy, horror and more.

At the Expo you can visit hundreds of vendor boths and exhibits, attend workshops, and panels featuring iconic artists and stars, grab new art from world-class creators, and even meet your favourite heroes for a photo or autograph.

The four-day festival is known to attract some of pop culture’s most iconic artists and performers, and this year is no exception. Among those making guest appearances this year are Sir Michael Gambon, known as “Dumbledore” from the beloved Harry Potter film series. The captain himself, William Shatner, and other Star Trek favourites will also beam into Calgary to help ring in the 50th Anniversary of Gene Roddenberry’s iconic sci-fi series.

The Calgary Expo will also be celebrating the 75th birthday of America’s favourite teenager, Archie, with a very special appearance from Archie Comics in a new area called ‘Riverdale Lane’. Other guests include, stars from popular films and series like The Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, Xena: Warrior Princess, Doctor Who, Jessica Jones, and more.
