Chicken on the Way

The original Chicken on the Way is a take-out joint that specializes in fried chicken, and glorious, greasy, salty fried chicken at that. Don’t miss the corn fritters on the side; and you can’t miss the giant chicken outside. Their “Our Specialty” meal includes four pieces of chicken, fries, and two corn fritters, and costs just $9.20.

Maurya Authentic East Indian Cuisine

Kensington’s Maurya is a longstanding family-run East Indian restaurant, and here you can do well without spending too much. All of their soups are $5 to $6, as are their veggie or meat samosas. Almost all of their vegetarian main courses fall in the $10 to $13, so you could fill up on just one entree, or save by sharing with a friend and pairing a main with an app or two.
