Calgary Cat Festival & Market returns for an annual celebration of all things feline

Calling all cat lovers! This fall, the Calgary Cat Festival & Market returns for its fourth year running, taking over Contemporary Calgary with two days of feline-themed fun and paw-sitive vibes.

On Sept. 13 and Sept. 14, this family-friendly celebration will be the city’s ultimate destination for anyone who’s ever been owned by a cat — I mean, anyone who’s ever owned a cat.

Guests can expect more than 50 local vendors in a vibrant, family-friendly festival atmosphere.

Of course, no cat festival would be complete without the stars of the show — actual cats! Local rescue organizations like Meow Foundation, Regal Cat Café, Calgary Humane Society, and more will be on site with adoptable cats and kittens ready to meet their future families.

Best of all, a portion of festival proceeds will go directly back to these Calgary rescues, so they can help cats find their forever homes.

The weekend also includes expert panels where you’ll hear inspiring rescue stories and learn practical cat-care tips.

Activities galore

It’s not all shopping and kitty cuddles though. The event will also feature a Kitty Corner Art Station for the little ones, and a “Paws & Paint” art workshop led by Colette Bachand Art for those who want to unleash their inner creative cat.

The fan-favourite Ravensburger Puzzle Tournament will also be returning, where teams can flex their puzzle skills for awesome prizes.

You’ll need to purchase a separate ticket for the tournament, but this will also give you full-day access to the festival’s vendors and activities, making it the ultimate two-for-one.

While the festival is all about celebrating our furry friends, you will need to leave your own pets at home — though rest assured, there will be no shortage of whiskers to admire!
